New Year’s Eve 2017

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2017!

We hope everyone had a great time celebrating the beginning of 2017! New Year’s Eve is one of our busiest times of year and this year was the busiest to date! Our POP drops (a 3′ balloon you pop that is filled with 75 mini 5″ balloons) and traditional balloon drops were the most popular items this year. We also had a few large scale decor installs and that’s what we would like to highlight. If you are interested in seeing photos from all of the events, visit our facebook album!

Steakbar Chicago

Steakbar Chicago hosted their first New Year’s Eve celebration this year and we were fortunate enough to help them decorate their event. They opted for a black, silver, and gold color scheme with a masquerade theme feel. Guests were greeted with illuminated mask topped columns near the front entrance. A large mask was created using foil balloons and was placed above the main downstairs bar. An organic champagne bubble stream attached on either side of the mask with a champagne bottle at one end. There are some booths on the lower level as well, and the ceilings aren’t very tall, so we added a little flair with gold foil spheres. The stairway leading to the upper level was adorned with starbursts made from several foil taper balloons. The opening over the lower level and parts of the upper level had some POP drops installed as well.

Benchmark Chicago

Benchmark Bar and Grill hosted a New Year’s Eve celebration with a Winter Wonderland theme. Two areas of the bar are open on the second floor to the area below, allowing decor to be hung over and across for the majority of the guests to see. On one side, arches were created in icy tones of blue and white balloons. Orbz and snowflake balloons were then hung beneath the arches. POP drops were then added in between the arches. On the other side, two balloon drops were hung side by side in the same colors used for the balloon arches.  More snowflake balloons were strung across the opening in addition to a few firework balloons. To finish off the look mini foil letter balloons were used to spell out “Happy New Year” above the bar and  “2017” was written on the opposite wall in large blue number foil balloons.

Fremont Chicago

Fremont Chicago was our third large decor install for New Year’s Eve. When guests entered the stairwell leading upstairs they were greeted by two light up balloon columns and star shaped balloons hanging overhead. The upper level of the building features a high, retractable roof. A large balloon drop net was hung across it while some free floating helium balloons were spread out around the ceiling. A bursting balloon champagne bottle was hung over the bar, complete with balloon bubbles cascading out. There is a large opening looking down over the lower level bar which was filled with floating champagne bubble balloon strands.

Ceiling Fills

Maple & Ash, STK, and The Drake hotel’s Palm Court all opted for ceiling fills this year instead of balloon drops, POP drops, or other decor options. In addition to the balloon on the ceiling, metallic ribbon was also used to create a much more elegant look. Maple & Ash had ribbon almost to the floor, STK had ribbons about halfway to the floor from the ceiling, and The Drake opted for ribbons that would be cut just overhead of all the guests. Ceiling fills are great options for both high and low ceilings when a balloon drop isn’t they look you’re going for. Whether it is a small section of an enclosed ceiling area or the entire room, a ceiling fill creates a dramatic effect with the “WOW!” factor your guests will love.
