Chicago Pride Parade 2018

On Sunday, June 24th we showcased our “Harmony” themed entry in the 49th annual Chicago Pride Parade for the 9th year in a row. We are so grateful and appreciative of everyone who helped make this pride a huge success. Thank you!

Since the world is so divided, we decided on HARMONY to be our theme for this year’s float and used nature as a source of inspiration. Various kind of trees were created with lots of flowers and animals mixed in, all living in harmony.

We added something new to our float this year, controllable costumes! Birds created in each of the main rainbow colors were “ridden” through the parade and created a huge scene. Each bird had a controllable neck and head, which the rider used to give the bird a personality and interact with the other birds and the crowd. A few giraffes with the same riding concept were also created and worn throughout the parade. The giraffes stayed more towards the crowds to entertain and interact as they marched along the parade route. Conrad the Unicorn returned for his 3rd year marching with us and even brought a new friend, Tommy the Toucan! Carolyn of POP! Designs and Creations, Conrad’s creator, helped out enormously this year by also creating 6 adorable rainbow bee costumes for us! The bees “buzzed” around each other amongst the flowers and loved every minute of the parade!
